Boot to a SATA drive
« on: June 08, 2013, 12:35:05 pm »
Hello,

If I understand it's not possible to boot directly to a SATA drive (or SSD drive) ??

Is it possible to create the boot-loader to NAND and load rootfs from a SATA drive ??
Use only NAND for boot, it's possible, I can not do  :'(

Thank you.

Yes it's been done before.  Search around for 'sata boot' here and on the Cubie board Google groups.

I don't work...

My kernel is compiled with sata support.
CONFIG_SW_SATA_AHCI_PLATFORM and CONFIG_SATA_AHCI_PLATFORM to y in sun4i_defconfig

I change root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 for root=/dev/sda1
