Cubieboard v4 OS (A80 Based) / Re: Get the full 2 GB ram ?

How the heck extend the RAM? I already got tired searching on that answer. No one really knows. Saying to recompile the kernel - but how?

I usually spent 5 minutes to recompile the kernel. The problem is far-fetched.

Can you describe how you do that?

Hi mr.dom,i have used CB4 some time.
change RAM sharing in between GPU and CPU? You mean  release the all of the RAM ´╝člike :

root@cubieboard:~# top
top - 07:06:49 up 52 min,  2 users,  load average: 3.04, 3.05, 2.93
Tasks: 165 total,   1 running, 164 sleeping,   0 stopped,   0 zombie
%Cpu(s):  0.3 us,  0.2 sy,  0.0 ni, 99.3 id,  0.1 wa,  0.0 hi,  0.0 si,  0.0 st
KiB Mem:   2063980 total,

That doesn't split RAM between GPU and CPU. That just shows how much is used.

Look at attachment for how good it's equipped with heat sinks:). It is not overheated. I think the problem lies in power transmission to RAM somewhere. For the unit of $35 i won't care - just replaced it. But this costs $135!

P.S. Do you know how to change the clock?

I Raspberry Pi it is done fairly easy.

i think the  script  can help you
I used that install_emmc.sh script to flash OS from SD to NAND. Have a couple comments for those who will use it too. Before launch the script:

1. Put it in /root folder and run it from there
2. Install busybox, figlet, rsync and dosfstools. The last needed to make the script command mkfs.vfat working.
Code: [Select]
apt-get install busybox figlet rsync dosfstools
P.S. Cubieboard team sucks. Guys make a lot of money and don't pay users back. There is no site..with a good documentation and tools. Just this f...ing unfriendly forum interface, where you need to put a bunch of confirmation to post a comment :)
