Tested with only one partition.
METHOD 1

Boot the sd card with cubiuntu 1.1.

http://www.cubieforums.com/index.php/topic,362.msg1501.html#msg1501

2 Make sure your sata disk is plugged (fdisk -l should show it.)

3 Change uEnv.txt on  mmcblk0p1 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2    to     root=/dev/sda1. You can access  mmcblk0p1 easily via pcmanfm.

4 Format your sata Hdd to, for example, ext2 (just in case) with gparted, for example. That will erase all the data from sata hdd, be careful.

5 Type:

sudo dd if=/dev/mmcblk0p2 of=/dev/sda bs=1M
then
sync

6 DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR microsdcard.

7 Reboot

8 Now you are in sata hdd, to make the entire size available type:

resize2fs /dev/sda1

9 If you want to reboot on sdcard, remember to change uEnv.txt.

METHOD 2
Boot the sd card with cubiuntu 1.1.

http://www.cubieforums.com/index.php/topic,362.msg1501.html#msg1501

2 Make sure your sata disk is plugged (fdisk -l should show it.)

3 Change uEnv.txt on  mmcblk0p1
Code: [Select]
root=/dev/mmcblk0p2
   to
Code: [Select]
root=/dev/sda1
. You can access  mmcblk0p1 easily via pcmanfm.

4 Format your sata Hdd to, for example, ext2 (just in case) with gparted, for example. That will erase all the data from sata hdd, be careful.

5
cd / ;
sudo umount /dev/nand2 ;
sudo mount /dev/nand2 /mnt ;
rm -r /mnt/* ;
echo "
/dev/*
/proc/*
/sys/*
/media/*
/mnt/*
/run/*
/tmp/*
" > EXCLUDE_FILE ;
rsync -avc --exclude-from=EXCLUDE_FILE / /mnt ;
sync ;
sync ;
sync ;
rm EXCLUDE_FILE ;
umount /dev/nand2 ;
umount /mnt ;

6 DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR microsdcard.

7 Reboot

8 Now you are in sata hdd, to make the entire size available type:

resize2fs /dev/sda1

9 If you want to reboot on sdcard, remember to change uEnv.txt.

when i remove the memory card its not booting from the hard drive,is the memory card required to boot from the hdd?? is there a way to boot without the memory card plugged in?

problems fixed i took the shortcuts from the older image  :P

and the @nm-applet to autostart  worked also thanks  :D

i found something the cpu is set to performance so its running at 1ghz without lowering the frequency, how do i set it to auto so it can lower the frequency if its idle?
