How can I verify my version?
I have a Samsung k9gbg08uoa scbo chip. Nor hynix, nor foresee.
Try a Arch Linux ARM.
I use it for about 8 months now and work flawlessly.
It is rolling release, so you will not have problem with the updates.

It is working great for me!

@rhen, make sure you are connecting to the correct one. There are actually two (one isn't working) cubieforums and the german one.

via SGS4

I'm able to connect now to another one that works.
Yesterday I only saw the wrong one and the de one.

It doesn't work.
I have found it in the Tapatalk app, but there is an error connecting to the server.

I asked admin on He wants to talk with lawrence but he ignore him. He is also IP-banned from this site by lawrence. That's his version.

I don't see the whole thing so I don't say that who is the good or bad guy here.
Only lawrence and "admin" can solve this. (who is the other forum's admin?)

I hope the roots of this situation is only a misunderstanding and they can solve this problem.

I don't say that this is your fault, but the two of the same forum is bad.

I don't know why anyone want to "steal" a forum.
If you steal, you have to host the new one, you have to register a new domain. It is money.
And the "new" forum has only one banner ad. It brings enough revenue to worth steal a forum?

I don't know whats the point.

On the other forum he said that the site had problem on the .com server/domain and he wanted to make it more reliable but can't contact you.

You should talk to him. It is not a good situation that the cubieboard community broke into half.
One half uses this forum, the other is the .net version.

I think this is a really bad situation.

Yes, I just pushed the updates to server today.
Where cubian-update get the new kernel images and modules?
I read on github, that apt will take the job that now cubian-update do.
So your kernel and modules will be available at
When this thing planned to happen?

Thanks for the awesome Cubian! :)
It haven't worked yesterday, but it worked today.

Is there a way to update cubian r4?

Just updated with sudo cubian-update
I performed a sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade before cubian update, just to be sure.
I can't update too.
I have tried cubian-update and apt-get update+upgrade and it doesn't update the kernel and boot loader or anything cubian related stuff. Only some debian package updated.
How have you installed openmediavault?
I added the openmediavault repo to my sources.list but has problem with it.
I can't install it, because there is no armhf build in the repo.
Cubieboard v2 OS (A20 Based) / Re: System crashed on SD

I had the same problem about 1,5 weeks ago.
I use as a headless server to run an ftp server, minidlna and delugetorrent.
The server once suddenly become unavailable on the network and I can't boot it from the SD card anymore.
I had to format my SD card and install Cubian again.
Now Cubian runs from NAND and is seems more stable.

Probably the problem was with my SD card.
My Cubieboard2 and power supply can do funny things.
Everything works fine, but if I use an USB extender cable, Cubieboard can't power on my SATA HDD. It sound like the hdd tries to spin up, but can't reach the normal state.
It isn't good. Cubieboard's power cable is really short.
I'll try it with another extender cable, but it is possible, that I will need to buy a larger power supply. (I have a 2A one)
I use the cubieboard2 with a HGST Travelstar 5K1000 series 2,5" HDD as a headless file server and is stable with a 2A power supply.
