Title: Telephone charger as power supply
Post by: atodea on December 27, 2013, 10:40:12 am
Can I use a telephone charger as a power supply (using the USB cable provided with the Cubieboard)?

If yes, does it have to have 2A or could it have just 0.6A (I don't have an external HDD  or anything else)?

I plan to use a Samsung 2A 5V charger or one with just 0.6A...

Thanks.

Sorry for creating a new post (the old one was: http://www.cubieforums.com/index.php/topic,1263.0.html)

Depends on what you plan to do with you cb2.  If you're going to plug in a WiFi dongle or any USB device that pulls a lot of current, as opposed to a mouse or keyboard, or drive a lot of gpios, go with at least 1A.

Thank you for the fast reply. I only use the Ethernet. No wifi, no usb, no sata.
I use it as a test server for JSP webapps.
