Having Problems with Changing the Screen resolution.
is there a working way to do this
At the moment I only can attach a TV (HDMI) to it, every other Monitor shows "out of Range"
Even on the TV it's not displaying all of the screen - it seems like zoomed in, the edges are barely visible.

refering to : cb_a20_ubn_12.04_x-v1.03-hdmi.img Which is Installed on the NAND of CB2 (A20)

having tried to set it in script.bin (/dev/nanda)

tried:

[disp_init]
screen0_output_mode = 4

[lcd0_para]
lcd_x = 1024
lcd_y = 768
lcd_dclk_freq = 60

When rebootet:
THIS did not work, there was actually no change, I still only see something on the TV

I tried as described here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/cubieboard/r_rr3IUrN3k

Inserting: disp.screen0_output_mode=1024x768p60 hdmi.audio=0
Does NOT let the script.fex render into script.bin saying -wrong letter or so at the respective line

It seems as if there is no reaction if I change something in script.bin [lcd0_para] whatsoever.

Any idea; how to change the Screen resolution for the A20 Linaro Ubuntu with Kernel 3.3 ?

Tried mode=5
Also Tried [disp_init] screen0_output_mode=5
Still nothing changed when rebootet. Is it maybe [hdmi_para] what i have to change?

I tried the ubuntu 12.04 image, and I am just unimpressed with the desktop environment, I would highly recommend getting rid of LXDE and use gnome instead, and if you do please upload the image... I am not a fan of LXDE at ALL, it resembles windows too much..

lcd_y = 768
lcd_dclk_freq = 60

lcd_* parameters are for an LCD screen, not HDMI output.

This is a kernel command line parameter, not a FEX file entry.  Also, this syntax for the kernel command line is not supported in the 3.3.0 kernel.

Mode 4 is 720p 50Hz, and mode 5 is 720p 60Hz, so it's not surprising they both don't work.  You can see all the settings here: https://github.com/linux-sunxi/linux-sunxi/blob/sunxi-3.0/drivers/video/sunxi/disp/disp_clk.c#L77.  There does not appear to be any hdmi_para in the FEX file.  See http://linux-sunxi.org/Fex_Guide.

I most certainly can.
bin2fex on script.bin
find the section on disp_init
i changed this line: screen0_output_mode = 5
fex2bin on script.fex
took several trial and error runs to find a suitable console

I am using an old IBM 20" flatpanel l200p I think it is
