How good is the HDMI video play back?
« on: February 18, 2017, 11:16:27 am »
How good is the 1080p video play back with android?
Has anyone tried playing hevc (x265) videos? MXplayer on googleplay will play them.
My old CT tries but can't do it.

Thanks,
Ned

This website has hevc (x265) examples.

http://www.elecard.com/en/download/videos.html

While I am pretty sure a CT+ can run kodi. I want to know if it can play back my collection of x265 videos?
A portable htpc without fan noise would be great.

Anyone with the knowledge out there?

Thanks,
Ned

I bought  a CT+ and can now say that play back of both x264 & x265 1080p video is excellent.
It does make a good htpc running Kodi & Mxplayer. My only regrets are not reading up on it more. To
discover that the sata port is connected through a usb adapter [35meg / sec], since the H8 soc doesn't
have a pcie buss. And that rooting seems to be difficult. My old CT just needed SuperSU installed to be
root.
