Cubie Board Latest vs Raspberry PI3
« on: May 30, 2016, 06:12:57 am »
Hello,

I looking for people running server tasks on the cubie who have compared it with the pi.
All I care about is RELIABILITY not performance.

Here in this article:

Unfortunately, after nearly 12 hours and 1.5 million requests, our Pi 3 fell over with a kernel panic.

At least they admit that it crashed with kernel panic.

My experience with a pi2 running kismet, crashed with kernel panic after 16days (not running out of storage). I will continue my own tests with the pi2 in the future but I would like to hear it from others that is cubie more or less stable than the raspis?

I need it for a small file/vpn server later on and I would highly prefer it over the raspi due to its native SATA connection.

I don't want to see kernelpanics just years of uptime, this server would not be highly loaded on any way.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've been running a CT (A20) here for ages and it just keeps going.  It is a local file server (ethernet and Wi-Fi) and web server.  The load is very light apart from big backups and compiling kernels.  I'm running a custom 3.4.103 kernel and whatever Apache/PHP is current.

Cheers,
Steven
