A20 oldschool linux images
« on: September 02, 2014, 12:07:14 pm »
Hi!

Looking for a little oldschool linux image for A20. Prefer debian based images without x-window, 2gig or less image size. What is my best option?

Really stable.

Debian Wheezy / stable distribution is recommended.

Pick VGA if you have VGA monitor attached else HDMI.

The rest is for kernel upgrade if you have some old image, compilation from source or testing purposes.

Debian and Ubuntu images with kernel 3.4.110, 4.3.3, 4.4

No vga, no hdmi, that cubie only for remote connection. It should start as that by default, and will need as much free memory as possible - at least 750 meg, prefer 800 meg+

I use the VGA wheezy version.  SSH on as default no monitor actually needed.  About 1.8gb free from boot.

I found a .raw file there, not .img. Even if i rename it, phoenixsuit (1.08) tells me, image is broken. How to flash it?

Use the windows app "image writer" and install directly to sdcard.  The image is the same format as using the DD command in Linux.

Install to nand / data from the sdcard.
