Cubieboard as web server ( PHP , MYSQL)
« on: July 22, 2014, 12:03:42 am »
Hi guys ,

First of all I want to thank you for this forums.

I'm a PHP developer , I have a web application for small market (Accounting System) , this application was develop by PHP/MYSQL.

My application works very fine with my PC. But there is a problem some of markets dosen't want to install this application in their computers , because they afraid of database will damage or stolen.

I'm planning to use a Cubieboard as a web server for this application ( Accounting System) and max users will use this  application will be 10 users , normally will be 2 users.

My question is : Is Cubieboard good choice for my application ?

The Cubieboard will works all time (24/7). Works all time

I will buy a v5 fan for cubieboard for cooling

I need your experience and your opinion

my best regards

AboSami

Should work fine, but perhaps a Cubietruck would be a better choice...

That actually depends on your PHP scripts. How much performance they require? I have ownCloud (writen in PHP) + mysql as DB and its not so fast (still usable) when browsing webpage, one user can easily utilize 1 core. File synchronization is ok. So if 3 ppl would connect at same time, i think it would be slow.

I have also installed PHP APC.

Cubietruck is definitely the better choice, it has more RAM and the A20 cpu is a lot faster than the old A10.
