« on: April 01, 2014, 12:44:53 am »
By chance anyone has the fbturbo_drv with mali support compiled for Xorg 1.12 (Debian wheezy)
???
Thanks.

Ok, but one question, I'm a little confused here...
All I want is to have hardware HD video decoding, so I guess I don't need mali support neither the mali and dri libs, right?
Instead I will only need a normal fbturbo, without mali support, and sunxi vdpau, is that ok? ?
Thanks.

For this is my link assembly instructions fbturbo drivers supporting hardware chiding. without the support of Mali400 will not accelerate video decoding, because it is implemented as a subsystem of Mali.

It also enables the use of the Mali GPU to accelerate 3D/GL applications  (see our Mali binary driver installation howto).

So if I understand correctly,  CederX - that does the hardware video decoding, needs the Mali driver to work, is that so? ?

Yes, exactly.
Apologies for the delay - rarely watch English-language branch;)

I did and it works great. So far it is the best image for video playbak. 720p videos play really smooth and 1080p a bit laggy but I have to say I've tried it with a very slow SD card. I'm sure playback will be better on a Class 10 card.

No, this is wrong.
Mali is only for 3d and openGLE.
CedarX ist for vidoe decoding.
The display driver is for providing the framebuffer content for VGA or HDMI.
FBTurbo is used for simple 2D

There is a free but experimental VDPAU implementation as a replacement for CedarX

.... and for all XBMC guys: XBMX uses some 3D functions, so it requires Mali and CedarX.
