using nand images - do I need to think about TRIM functions?

My primary machine is an Ubuntu laptop with an SSD, and that experience has taught me a little bit about using fstrim to clean up and recover space from deleted files on the SSD.

So now that I've been running the Cubieez2 nand image on one of my Cubieboard2's for a while playing around with hadoop, I've started wondering if I need to be thinking about any TRIM-ing for the nand storage?  On a whim, I tried 'fstrim /' and learned that FITRIM is not supported ....

Is it just a matter of time until I have made such a mess of the nand storage that I am out of space?
