I think we should start a topic here on what has been reached so far.
I can add those milestones here, by modifying this post.

Example:

-720p mpg avi files playing.
-720 smtube
-mp3 sharing via subsonic
-480p/720p youtube
-scripts for changing lights
-flashing nand/sdcard directly from ftp servers
-java 8 oracle
-QT5 experience demo launching on CB2 /CT
-Game emulation

If you like the idea gimme karma  :P

Good idea, but I think that might become difficult, because there has already been very much archieved. I think a well documented changelog and/or feature list for the different version would make sense. Then everybody can see directly if the desired functionality is supported.

I also suggest a ToDo/wishlist, maybe with priority and responsible person, like that

WhatWhoPriority
Java stuffMcDonald4
Youtubesomeone else2
ScriptsSanta Clause5
Bluetooth8

I aggree that it is quite difficult to have an overview at the moment  ::) .

Cheers
Don't think that anyone will take more pains for his answer, as you took for your question.

Well, Jojo I wanted to make the list as simple as I can, it is just for beginners to have a guide.

As you say we'd had the format of the site against us...

Again I forgot that in this forum I cannot make changes in the main post...

imho, the idea is good, but.....
keep in mind that every change, we have to repack and reup the image, and it is quiet noisy...and long  :-\
For our luck there are not many bugs at the moment, and most part of the work should be for improvements.
A solution may be to up the new image once for mounth; this may reduce the number of images, but have long waiting time for those who wait the releases :-\
Could be another possibilty...but needs a very skilled people, and i'm not  :'(
