Hooking up OLD LCD Display to CT
« on: March 12, 2014, 04:14:14 pm »
Hey there,

I got an old LCD display gathering dust here and would like to know if it's possible to (and if so how to) use it with the CT.
In the attachment you'll find a photo i took off the connectors, the antenna i don't care about for now but may come in handy later on; my main focus is the visual aspect of things.

thx in advance :)

You'll need to lookup the panel to see what it is.

Look for a sticker on the back.  Its likely to be LVDS though.
If you google the panel, you'll find pinouts on its data sheet.

You have 2 options.
Cable up a LVDS cable, and configure - eg http://linux-sunxi.org/Cubieboard/LVDS
(cabling is per panel, so you NEED the datasheet for your panel to see how to cable).

OR

Get a panel controller, and use VGA or HDMI.
They're not that expensive, and can be had for $10 with LVDS cable, especially if the resolution of the panel is low.
