Yes, I did some debug & figured out that there is a bug in creating the file-system. Compiling kernel is fine, u-boot is fine ... I thought I will find & repair before anyone notice :) ... but was(am) unable to spend much time @computer those days.

Seems that something wrong in the line number 397 (that deleted some lib symbolic links) in build.sh

# remove false links to the kernel source
find $DEST/output/sdcard/lib -type l -exec rm -f {} \;

comment this line will work!

I had the same guess and am currently building an image with that line removed also. Will report back later today. Unfortunately my build machine is slow...

Bump!

Good news! I was able to compile DVBHDHOMERUN on the CT and have TVHEADEND working. Still have some configuration to do but much better performance than running on the PI. I am able to record two HD streams no problem to an external USB drive.

Hi there.

Does anybody sees a way of getting gcc-4.8 introduced to the image?

Thx

Hi,

just performed the latest upgrade, but unfortunately have troubles with Lirc. One of the modules does not seem to load properly.

I get the following error when entering "sudo /etc/init.d/lirc restart"
cannot access /sys/devices/platform/sunxi_lirc.0/lirc/: No such file or directory
-> I checked and the file is really not there, but I have the sunxi-lirc.ko in /lib/modules/.../lirc

Output of lsmod is:
Module                  Size  Used by
cpufreq_userspace       3294  0
disp_ump                 861  0
mali_drm                2608  1
drm                   207738  2 mali_drm
mali                  110323  0
ump                    50975  4 mali,disp_ump
lirc_gpio              10557  0
lirc_dev               13034  1 lirc_gpio
wifi_gpio               5861  0

I cant load either sunxi-lirc or sunxi_lirc with modprobe.

Thanks for any help!

Hi.

The image is meant to run as server as far as I understand. May I suggest something.

cat /proc/interrupts shows that all IRQs run on processor 0.

For a server it is a good idea to have eth0 running on a dedicated processor.

All what needs to be done is:

echo 2 > /proc/irq/117/smp_affinity

or

echo 2 > /proc/irq/$(cat /proc/interrupts | grep eth0 | cut -f 1 -d ":" )/smp_affinity

###

Can somebody point me to the Jessie upgrade instructions please. I scanned numerous pages, I couldn't find it.

THX

Cheers

Ok.

I managed to run the jessie upgrade.
Just used the original /etc/apt/sources.list.xxxx as sources.list, swapped "wheezy" with "jessie" inside and ran a dist-upgrade.

And...

Code: [Select]
gcc --version
gcc (Debian 4.8.3-2) 4.8.3
Copyright (C) 2013 Free Software Foundation, Inc.
This is free software; see the source for copying conditions.  There is NO
warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

@slovenia: why don't u use the jessie release for the image ??
There'd be slight performance advantages to use gcc-4.8.3 over 4.6  also for the kernel.

Hi,

just performed the latest upgrade, but unfortunately have troubles with Lirc. One of the modules does not seem to load properly.

I get the following error when entering "sudo /etc/init.d/lirc restart"
cannot access /sys/devices/platform/sunxi_lirc.0/lirc/: No such file or directory

lirc_dev               13034  1 lirc_gpio
wifi_gpio               5861  0

I cant load either sunxi-lirc or sunxi_lirc with modprobe.

Thanks for any help!

Solved it. Because I only updated, the sunxi_lirc module was "not known" to the kernel even though it was in the kernel directory.
depmod -a did fix this (in case anyone else runs into this problem)

Only thing left now is to find out how to send IR commands with the cubietruck, not sure if I need to buy an emitter and connect to GPIO pins?
